I just found your post and felt very sad about your up-bringing but pleased, too, that you now feel at peace in yourself. Sometimes, probably more than we are prepared to admit, it is a relief to be cut loose, so to speak. In any religious or spiritual sense, not that I am either!, it would be reasonable to assume that your parents are themselves also free and at peace.
You have been kind enough to advertise my book on your site and exchange encouraging words so I hope this may be a little recompense to you from me for that.

Remo here. I’m sad to see what happened to the place. I got out of there years ago as it just wasn’t healthy for me. I probably would have been better off at spank school but I sort of fell away from the community for a time.

At least you and Steven seem well, and for that I am happy.

I think it’s also about time that SSS itself was shut down. It was fun once as you say, but has been run into the ground by the current bunch of moderators (I use the term very loosely) and associated sock puppets.

The drop in traffic has little to do with ISPs dropping newsservers, more with the nature of the newsgroup itself. There are plenty of other newsgroups which are thriving.

Thank you for the opportunity to play in this most entertaining competition.

I am honored to be the winner of this season Football Picks Pool.

I have to say that I gave maximum concentration this season, and along with some good luck, I accomplished the task.

I will certainly treasure this championship season, and the Trophy will be proudly displayed on my (virtual) mantle.

It is true that I would certainly prefer a Stanley Cup for the Islanders (who are suddenly playing great!) – but until then – this will have to do.

I tip my virtual predictions-cap to everyone who played.

It is the weekly competition that is truly the reward.

Interesting – I hadn’t noticed the ring was defunct as my ring entry is on my old (but still live) site. Moving it was actually somewhere on my list of online things to do, so I now know I can cross it off!

Seems that SSS is all but defunct now, at least on a day to day basis – most ISPs here seem to have dropped their newsservers so it was probably inevitable the traffic would eventually fall below viability level.

Sad really
